Hi! I'm Holli, and I've been sewing for most of my life. When I was 8 years old I made clothes for my Barbies out of scraps of pink chiffon, scotch tape, and rubber bands. Shortly thereafter my mom enrolled my sister and I in a sewing class taught by a neighbor. I made a drawstring bag with an obnoxious parrot print for my first project, and I've been sewing ever since. At 9 I made wide leg bib overalls out of a hunter green apple print, which I styled with a flowy pirate style shirt. Perfectly 90's, and naturally my favorite outfit. Someday I'll show you a picture. Did I mention I had a bowl cut?

When I was 12 I saw a denim skirt at the mall that looked like it was made from a pair of jeans. I went home, found some old jeans, and made my own replica. Mine was maxi length and had blue and purple star print flannel spanning the gap between the lower pant legs. I wore it nearly every Sunday to church for longer than I care to admit. I've been refashioning ever since.

When I was 15 I took all $7 I had to my name with me to the thrift store to buy a Halloween costume. I came back with an iridescent purple upholstered chair for my bedroom, no costume, and no more money. I've been thrifting ever since.

I think in the years that have passed my taste has become a bit more refined, I've graduated college, gotten married, and given birth to three beautiful girls, but not much else has changed. I still hoard junk supplies because "someday I might use it", and I still love to sew, refashion and thrift any chance I get.
