The Blue Ridge Dress

Blue Ridge Dress instructionsI'm delighted (and exhausted) to be able to launch my first PDF pattern! I'll be hosting a pattern tester blog tour next week to showcase all the amazing dresses and the awesome people who made them, but for now, here's some info about the NEW Blue Ridge Dress! The Blue Ridge Dress is now available for purchase in my ETSY shop! Use the code BLUERIDGELAUNCH for 20% off through Friday July 3! The Blue Ridge Dress is a sleeveless dress with a fitted curved bodice, single button back closure, full gathered skirt, two length options, french seams, and features bias binding and trim. The unique bodice construction results in a beautifully finished garment inside and out, with no unfinished seams- a garment you can truly be proud of. With a large size range (12m-14) this pattern will be used for years to come. Designed for light to mid weight wovens, the look of the dress can vary based on the fabric choice. In a cotton or linen it makes a great play dress, rayon or voile turns it in to chic summer wedding attire, and lightweight wool makes a lovely autumn dress for layering. This is an intermediate level PDF sewing pattern. Confident beginners who are ready to stretch their skills can tackle this project. The pattern is drafted using layers so you can print just the sizes you need. The tutorial is fully illustrated and includes a mini tutorial on making your own bias tape. It includes all the things that you would expect of a 5-star pattern and the design is refreshingly new and fun! The tutorial taught me a new construction method and the garment ends up being perfectly finished inside and out. Definitely a garment you will be proud of!” -Karly Nelson, Paisleyroots.com

“Love this pattern! Diagrams are easy to read and the directions are very detailed. Love that she created the pattern pieces in layers so that you can print all of them nested or just the size you need. The printing guide makes it easy to know what pages you need to print for each size.” -Kim Moffit, Little Miss Moffits Creations

“When I saw the unique style of this dress I was thrilled. There are a lot of dress patterns out there with a standard bodice and skirt with slight variations (and those are great to have), but this dress was different. The chic scooping detail at the front and back and the full skirt made this special and unlike any dress pattern I already had in my stash. I learned some new techniques while sewing this pattern and they were well explained and easy to master (Hello, French Seams!). Everyone who has seen this dress has gushed over the design. My 8 year old daughter loves how comfortable it is since it doesn’t constrict her waist. It’s the perfect Summer dress for twirling and playing.” -Emilie Ahern, Plucky Momo
